As twenty-first century Christians we face a significant problem. We don’t know how to feel, and we don’t know much about how God feels either. While our society has sought more understanding about how emotion works, the Western Church has remained in ambivalent disarray about the topic. For almost three thousand years, Scripture has revealed that God is actually more emotional than any of us. The explosive growth of affective neuroscience has also disclosed the Biblical truth that human emotion is often God’s second chance to find greater wholeness for ourselves and those we love. From the lens of both Scripture and contemporary psychology, God’s Feelings, Our Feelings explores the emotional nature in both God and humans, and how to welcome the healing feelings can bring.
