Introducing Self-Hate and Self-Revenge
Some thoughts on spiritual laziness

Disc/Track 1:

We become our own judge and prosecutor when we make mistakes, and insist on punishment. Extended Meditation: The tragic impact of self-hate in every aspect of our lives and relationships.

It brings accusation, dread, shame, and darkness to the core of our being.

It cripples our capacity to love and forgive other people, and to receive love from God and others. When we take allegiance with self-hate, it becomes our master. It is full of arrogance, lies, and power. Changing sides to join Christ is a choice, an act of will, a planned decision long before crossing the line.

Disc/Track 2:

The process of changing allegiance:
1. See and feel the self-hate for how bad it really is, let the remorse grow.
2. Declare that you donʼt want it anymore, it does not belong to you and never should have. Say sorry for
the accusation and revenge you have held against yourself and God.
3. Reach the decisive moment when you change sides, letting the Lord embrace you with His love.
4. Following the shift, carefully protect and nurture your ability to live in Godʼs love and light. Help it grow
by undoing the old lies and habits, and changing your responses to your mistakes.

Two different types of spiritual laziness: seeing the mess we are in and just giving up, and becoming passive in our healing and not feeling a need to press into further wholeness. Both are settling for something less than God intends. We forget what we prayed for. We get stuck in a rut.

What to do about it… and knowing when “laziness” is actually righteous and well-deserved rest.
