Courage to be: Friendship with God, ourselves, and others

« Back to event list

Date/Time
Date(s) - Apr 13 - Apr 15

Location
The Holiday Inn

God intended that being ourselves should come naturally to us, and result in an overflow of blessing to us and others in the midst of friendship with Him. It’s an inspiring idea, but the reality of our lives is often very different.

Many of us find the pressure of daily life or the burdens of our history leave us with a diluted sense of who we are. Some of us become people pleasers, where we defer to what others think. Perhaps we feel overwhelmed with the pressure to ‘do’ and there seems no time left to ‘be’. Maybe we can’t see the value in being ourselves, or fear becoming arrogant.

During this workshop we will explore what a healthy way of being might look like from God’s perspective. We will consider how to grow in the awareness that ‘I am fearfully and wonderfully made’ (Ps 139) and what happens when we allow that peace to fill our relationships, including our relationship with God. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are in continual being with each other—what does it look like for them to make their home in us (Jn 14:23)?

Pastor Susan Williams will lead our weekend (with a guest appearance from Pastor Peter Holmes) along with our Rapha Women’s Leadership Team from Journey Church. The weekend will include good food and plenty of snacks, time to enjoy the local scenery near Yellowstone National Park, a Q&A ‘clinic’ for personal questions, and a time to meet the Lord together with communion and prayer for healing.

The weekend begins with dinner on Friday at 6:00pm (registration at 5:30pm) and will continue until Sunday at 11:00am. All workshop materials, meals, and accommodations are included in the cost. Click here for more information and to register.
