Helping the Church Change

If we are to fulfil the Great Commission, and see the Return of Christ, a great deal has still got to change in the Church. For instance, reaching the world for Christ is one of our unfinished tasks. Another is the lack of Scripture in many hundreds of living languages around the world.

Our failure to achieve these – so far – is the failure of discipleship as we have practiced it in the past. Therefore new models are now urgently needed, for at the heart of Biblical discipleship is the need in all of us for personal positive change toward greater Christ-likeness. None of us are naturally Christ-like. We all need to change in numerous positive ways.

But how do we do this? What we learn is that even modest change requires we first let go of our greatest burdens. For some this is our reluctance to change. For others it is  our fear of change. Some of us need the motivation of deeper intimacy with God, or to let go of our toxic and damaged pasts before we can move into our futures with all of its positive change.

In essence, what we are suggesting is that to help hasten the Return of Christ none of us can remain the people we have become. Instead we need to become the person we were created by Him to be. Discipleship is about this ongoing journey. Our ministry is intended to help people on their journey in a range of practical ways, whether we are beginning our spiritual journey, or more experienced in our Christ-centred journeying. See our range of books and training programmes for more information.
